Dewald is the founder and CEO at fourTENS.
Growing up in Pretoria, the capital city of South Africa, he moved to Hastings, MN because he reached a threshold where warm sunny climates became too boring. To fulfill the occasional need to thaw, he visits Scottsdale often and never wastes an opportunity to step onto a golf tee.
His skills at wrangling complex code into amazing solutions were formed in his youth, while he became a Taekwondo champion and won the African and Commonwealth Championships twice. To get his blood flowing, he takes measured risks, like the time he bungeed off the highest commercial spot in the world, at Bloukrans in Plettenberg Bay.
When he isn’t leading the fourTENS team, Dewald collects golf balls from all the courses he loves playing and likes to adorn his headwear with stickers from all the places where he indulges in the fuel that turns caffeine to code. He never turns down a good espresso. If he could, he’d join Queen on stage at Live Aid 1985 and rock his socks off.
